Willem SEDEREL

After completing his degree at Twente University of Technology in the Netherlands, Willem became a postdoc at CWRU in Cleveland (OH) and joined Shell Research in Amsterdam in 1977. Willem spent his professional career mainly in the area of leading material, process and application development for engineering thermoplastics within GE Plastics (1981-2007). He has been the global technology leader for the $5 Bn polycarbonate product line for almost ten years. For GE Corporate he worked 2 years as Chemistry Director in Schenectady (NY). In September 2007 Willem became an employee of SABIC through the acquisition of GEP and he was appointed the Innovation Leader for the Business. During the last four years Sederel is leading a large regional effort in bio-based chemicals and materials innovation in the South-western Netherlands. He has been the founding father of the Green Chemistry Campus at the SABIC site in Bergen op Zoom (NL) that was opened in September 2011. Since the beginning of 2013 he has been appointed as the managing director of the Biobased Delta.
