Merlin GOLDMAN

I completed a Masters and PhD in Biochemical Engineering in England with research projects focusing on cellular expression of proteins. I then moved to Scotland and spent two years as a Research Scientist at PPL Therapeutics characterising the expression of transgenic proteins and two years as a Fermentation Engineer working on high volume production of monoclonal antibodies at Serologicals Ltd. After completing an MBA I moved to Dublin, Ireland to work for Wyeth on their new Grange Castle plant helping to qualify the upstream and downstream sections of the Enbrel process. After 3 years I returned to London and now work for the UK’s Innovation Agency, Innovate UK. I am a Lead Technologist in the High Value Manufacturing team, with responsibility for bioprocessing, plug and play, concurrent and sustainable manufacturing. I am a Fellow of the Institution of Chemical Engineers.
