Dr Carsten SIEDEN

Carsten Sieden is senior vice president of BASF. He joined the company in 1996 as a research scientist and held a variety of management roles in Europe.
Mr. Sieden relocated to BASF’s Asia Pacific regional headquarters in Hong Kong in 2003. From 2003 to 2010 he held positions in the regional business units Fine Chemicals and Process Catalysts & Technologies with responsibilities ranging from manufacturing to sales throughout Asia Pacific.
In 2010, Mr. Sieden relocated back to Germany to become senior vice president for BASF’s White Biotechnology. He is also spokeman of the BASF’s Global Renewable Steering Committee.
Mr. Sieden was born in Germany and graduated from the University of Münster. He conducted his research for his doctorate degrees in chemistry at the Max Planck Institute in Mühlheim / Ruhr which was followed by post-doctoral research at Stanford University, California.
