FACTORY PRESENTATION:
The Biorefinery of Bazancourt-Pomacle is located near Reims (15 km North).
This complex represents an outstanding example of integrated biorefinery, which has been developed over a long period of time, starting with the creation of a sugar beet refinery in the early 50’s. The strong and sustained commitment of local farmers and their cooperatives is a key factor behind today’s biorefinery.
Today, two realities co-exist and interact on a single site: an industrial complex, which can be defined as an industrial ecosystem (integration & synergies) and BRI (Bioraffinerie Recherches & Innovations), an innovation platform that is organized around ARD (AgroIndustrie Recherches & Développements), which is a R&D center owned by the cooperatives. Presently, BRI forms the “technological heart” of the competitiveness cluster IAR (Industries & Agroressources)
The main purpose of this visit is to allow you to experience firsthand the underlying dynamic of the current setup and to convey to you the fact that biorefining in Bazancourt-Pomacle is no longer a concept, but a hard, industrial reality.
